Fun & Fabulous Friday

What a wonderful day!  I love it when I get right up in the morning and set to just makes the day go much smoother.  I don't know why, but I can be quite pessimistic about going to the grocery store;  I'll put it off until I can't put it off any longer.  Today, I went early.  When I go early, I beat the Friday crowd!  Plus I got the bank deposit made and graduation cards mailed...what a sense of accomplishment.  And I topped the day off by completing the latest sketch challenge from Creative Scrappers...whew!

My take is somewhat different, but I really like the way it turned out.

Kraft paper by Studio Calico
Fabric Thicker Letters by American Crafts
Corrugated Alpha Letters by Making Memories
Wooden Buttons by Close To My Heart
Butterfly by K& Co

Other: vintage crochet thread and punched butterflies
I revamped my Photobucket today too.  I made separate folders for Layouts, Dot & Whimsy Creations and later I will add ones for Cards, Altered Projects and The Red Robin.  Since most design team calls ask for an online Gallery, I figured what better time to get mine updated!
I will be hosting a **GIVE-A-WAY** by drawing names from those who leave a comment on my blog...more info coming soon!
If you are a customer from Dot & Whimsy or The Red Robin, be sure to check back and leave a comment on the Give-A-Way won't be disappointed :)
Have a FABULOUS Friday evening and WONDERFUL weekend!

Beautiful Birthday Shaker Card

Hello and welcome to my contribution to the  SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES and HERO ARTS BLOG HOP

For my project, I have chosen to make this cute shaker birthday card!

Before we get started on the detail, here is a list of supplies that I've used: From Scrapbook Adhesives: Keepsakes Envelope Mix (I used 4" X 3.5") Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1/4 in, Dual Tip Glue Pen, Crafty Foam Tape Black and the E-Z Runner Grand Refillable Dispenser with E-Z Runner Grand Permanent Dots Refill.  From Hero Arts: Dress Up Stamp and Cut and Kelly's Flags Stamp & Cut
To begin, I added a few star sequins directly to the sticky part of the Keepsake Envelope.
Next I sprinkled some round sequins inside of the pocket.
I used the Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1/4" to close up the pocket.
I cut a piece of patterned paper the same size as the pocket and mounted it to the sticky back of the pocket.
After die-cutting the dress bottom from patterned paper, it was pleated along the score lines and then…
