Just Because!

It's always such an honor to be invited as part of a
CYCLING TEAM
at
This go-around it's with the Just Because Collection and let me tell you,
it's so sweet with the little love birds, clouds, adorable poppy shapes and hearts.
And as with all LYB Collections, you have so many elements and embellishments
to create with: chipboard shapes, canvas stickers, clear cut shapes, journal cards,
build-your-own-flower kits and lots more!
Here's the cute canvas mini album that I made almost exclusively with Just Because
**LOTS OF PHOTOS AHEAD**

I love giving mini albums as gifts; with the Just Because Collection you have so many avenues
of themes to choose from!  For this one, I kept it more of an everyday-life-theme so
that the recipient can fill them with any kind of photos.

First, I started with Canvas Covered Chipboard Album and four of the chipboard inserts.
I wanted to keep the album front clean-and-simple, so I flecked the canvas with just a bit
of Sweet Cherry spritz.  From the Chipboard Shapes, I chose the larger royal blue frame,
which I backed with one of the 6x6 patterned papers and then embellished with other
chipboard shapes, cardstock stickers, canvas borders and a few pearls and trim from my stash.
When layering pieces, I like to use both thin and thick foam dots to achieve different levels of dimension.

These pocket kits have up to 12 little markers that you can journal on...
such a great concept, especially for mini albums where you can pull each one from the
pocket to look at.  Tuck a pen inside and let different members of your family jot down a memory!

For the inner pages I wanted to create areas for journaling, as well as places for a few small photos.
The 6x6 paper pad makes this process so simple!  After determining the base paper,
I cut another 6x6 paper down to 5x5 and then machine-stitched the two together.
When constructing a mini album, I try to keep in mind how the pages will lay against
one-another, especially if you like chunky/layered embellishments like I do!

The Clear Cuts Shapes are among some of my favorite items from LYB!
Because I'm a 'stitcher' at heart, I found it fun to attach them to the pages by machine-stitching
across the design or hand-stitching them with X's.
The glint of foil on the various embellishments adds a subtle pop.

I love, love, love Decorative Stick Pins!  I used two of the pins to mimic a
banner holder for the sweet canvas sticker that I used on page 7.  To do so, I left one
of the pins intact and to the other, I snipped off the 'pin' part with a pair of wire cutters.
I attached them over the canvas sticker with glue dots.

 Final page done...now it's all set for gift-giving :)

Beautiful Birthday Shaker Card

Hello and welcome to my contribution to the  SCRAPBOOK ADHESIVES and HERO ARTS BLOG HOP

For my project, I have chosen to make this cute shaker birthday card!

Before we get started on the detail, here is a list of supplies that I've used: From Scrapbook Adhesives: Keepsakes Envelope Mix (I used 4" X 3.5") Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1/4 in, Dual Tip Glue Pen, Crafty Foam Tape Black and the E-Z Runner Grand Refillable Dispenser with E-Z Runner Grand Permanent Dots Refill.  From Hero Arts: Dress Up Stamp and Cut and Kelly's Flags Stamp & Cut
To begin, I added a few star sequins directly to the sticky part of the Keepsake Envelope.
Next I sprinkled some round sequins inside of the pocket.
I used the Extreme Double-Sided Tape 1/4" to close up the pocket.
I cut a piece of patterned paper the same size as the pocket and mounted it to the sticky back of the pocket.
After die-cutting the dress bottom from patterned paper, it was pleated along the score lines and then…
