Eggstra Special House

Hello, everyone!
I have been looking forward to this post and being able to share this adorable
Egg House that I made Authentique Paper's Promise Collection
...it makes me even more ready for Spring!

This egg shape is part of  the
Cotton Tail Village Collection from SVGCuts.com
If you have your own personal cutting system, give this project a try!

Although there is a tutorial available on the SVGCuts website, I will give you a little
play-by-play on how to put it all together.

You will start with a foundation piece that all of the smaller pieces are adhered to.
For this, I like to use the heaviest cardstock that I can find...Authentique's papers
work perfectly for projects such as this!
After all of the smaller egg 'tiles' were cut, I distressed the edges in a walnut ink and
then glued into place.I like to work with a quick drying liquid glue, especially when it
comes to all of the tabs that connect together in creating the finished product.

The bottom of the egg sits on this handy 'box', which is also a part of the cutting file.
I trimmed around the top with some pretty May Arts novelty ribbon and then added some
felt flowers from my stash. On the front of the box, I adhered one of the punch-out
pieces from the Components Die-Cut Paper Accents sheet.

I think the little details make the project!  In finishing the house, I glued lengths of pink/white
baker's twine between the seams of each panel.  I love how it tied everything together
and hid some of the imperfect edges created when cutting.

I love that this handmade Easter decor is almost 100% made from paper...

there are three houses in the cutting file) to share on your Easter buffet and be prepared
 for lots of ooo's and ahhh's :)

  1. Oh me, oh my! I can't believe this is entirely made from paper... When I pinned it on Pinterest I thought you had covered a foam egg or something! It's so amazing (and seriously cute). :)

I have quite a few photos to share, so I'll leave most of them in a  smaller size.  Just click on each one to enlarge.
My vision for the album was to mix 'n match  Handmade Holiday, SN@P and Year.O.Graphy I wanted bright colors mixed in with more shabby-distressed look that Simple Stories is known for.    For the cover, I took a bright Turquoise Dot SN@P paper and a strip from Year.O.Graphy and stitched them together.  The title is a compilation of  sevearl SN@P sticker elements.
