Xyron & Brutus Monroe

XYRON &BRUTUS MONROE have been teaming up for a week of inspiration! Although today is the final day, just visit Xyron at Facebook to see all of the beautiful projects made by the Design Team.
I had a lot of fun exploring the packet of products that were sent to me!   Here is a list of Brutus Monroe products that I used to create this 6X6 card: Oz Premium Chalk Ink Pad 6X6 Card Bases Jam Acrylic Stamp Raven Detail Ink Pad Copper Penny Liquid Element Spray Midway Paper Pad
With the Raven Detail Ink, the jar of jam was stamped onto one of the  Mixed Media papers, as well as onto white cardstock from my stash.
I cut out the jar top from the patterned paper and used a small  Imagine Crafts Paint Brushstix  dipped into the Oz Chalk Ink to color in the band. Next, I used a small paint brush and dipped it into the bottle of Copper Spray and painted in the "jar" area.  After allowing the first application to dry, I added more of the color to shade in the area.
The dried jar pieces were cut out and…

Yacht Club Shadowbox

Ahoy, friends!  I'm up on the  CARTA BELLA PAPER BLOG  with a nautical shadowbox that I’ve decorated with pieces from  the “Yacht Club Collection”.
I started with a 10X10 shadowbox frame with an 8X8 inset.   I removed the back of the frame and used it to begin building my design on!
I chose the“Nantucket” paper for the main background and then began adding  clusters of embellishments.  I also added a border to the top and bottom  of the paper with the Woodgrain Washi Tape.
To the lower, left corner I used the largest label die from the  Designer Label Set #5and die-cut the design from side B of the  “Alphabet Letters” paper.  Next, I layered on one  of theEphemera label pieceswith foam adhesives.  To the center of it, the  chipboard sailboat and various stickers and enamel dots were attached.
Now that the inside of the shadowbox has been decorated, it was placed back  inside of the frame.  I outlined the front of the glass with a trim of red/white/blue  twine and some fabric glue.

"It's a Girl" Altered Frame

Greetings!  I was up on the  CARTA BELLA PAPER BLOG a few days ago with a sweet altered frame using the It's a Girl Collection Kit

I purchased this decorative wooden frame from Michael’s and painted around the edges with an olive green acrylic paint.
Next, I traced around the frame’s design onto side B of the“Journaling Cards” Paper.  To apply adhesive, I ran the paper through my Xyron 9" Creative Station  and then adhered to the front of the frame.   Afterwards, I lightly sanded around the edges to give a shabby, worn look.
Now came the fun part…embellishing!   With foam adhesive, I added the “Baby” banner stickers along the side and  embellished with medium sized red enamel dots.
To the inside of the frame, I cut a piece of the “Alphabet Paper”(side B) to 5X7.   It was layered on top with one of the journal sentiment cards. Various chipboard,  designer brads, ephemera pieces and enamel dots were added in fun, clustered designs.
The inset of the frame can be removed later on and a persona…
