Two civilians were injured in an Israeli attack targeting several military points in the vicinity of the Syrian capital Damascus on Sunday night, according to the Syrian Defense Ministry.
In a statement, the ministry stated that Israel launched an aerial attack from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan Heights, wounding two civilians and causing material losses.
Meanwhile, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that Israel targeted the scientific research sites in the Jamraya area in the western countryside of Damascus with four rockets, causing fires.
The Britain-based watchdog group noted that the presence of Iranians and their proxies at Syrian military sites may have been the reason for the attack, as Israel continues to monitor their movements in the region.
This latest Israeli attack marks the 29th such attack this year, following Israel's Friday attack on military sites in Syria's northern city of Aleppo, which killed 42 military personnel, according to the observatory.
